PSM Element: Project Review and Design Procedures

One of the steps in Process Safety Management (PSM) implementation is to complete a qualitative gap analysis against the PSM standard (in this case, the CSA Z767 standard). To perform this gap analysis, PSM Self-Assessment Worksheets have been developed as part of the current work. These documents are for the project review and design procedures element.

Project review and design procedures include the consideration of risk assessments through project status, including requests for approval, siting decisions, and the design process. This element includes a review of process hazards associated with a proposed project and the project activities required to properly manage those hazards.

The Self-Assessment and Action Plan Worksheet and the resources and industry best practices below are intended to help integrate the investigation element into your workplace.
