The Wood Pellet Association of Canada (WPAC) is pleased to announce our latest Safety Hero, Scott McPhee, Operations Superintendent at Drax Burns Lake in BC. Scott continually motivates his colleagues to work safely.
Scott is a long-time champion for workplace safety. Before his current role, he served as HS&E Manager with Drax, building a foundation of safety leadership that continues to this day. He is a strong advocate for Drax’s Zero Harm program and a vocal and respected member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
“Scott has recently played a pivotal role in preparing the Burns Lake team to safely perform burner cleaning operations in-house,” said Rodney Bedford, Plant Manager at Drax Burns Lake. “He helped drive the safety planning, procedures and preparedness required to execute the work safely.”
WPAC’s Safety Hero Award recognizes individuals who go above and beyond to ensure leading safety practices are embraced and implemented in their workplaces. By featuring their contributions, we strengthen our collective responsibility for safety and raise awareness of the everyday actions that make our industry safer.
